Bhubaneswar : In an effort to give shape to a major 5T target in urban administration with greater transparency and efficiency, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched Online Property Tax Module that will facilitate payment of tax anytime anywhere.
The Chief Minister also launched Municipal Premier League, a unique transformative endeavour, which will facilitate ULBs to enhance their own revenue collections.
Launching these twin programmes of Housing & Urban Development Department at Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhawan, the Chief Minister said, “I congratulate the Urban Development Department for giving shape to one of the important 5T targets. It has been the endeavour of my Government to deliver all the public services at the doorsteps of people using technology.
OnlineOnline Property Tax Module launched today facilitating Payment Anytime Anywhere is a very good initiative started by Housing & Urban Development Department. I am sure; people residing in urban areas will be immensely benefited”.
“Enhancing own revenues of our cities is very important to encourage higher investments, ensure better amenities and enhance the living conditions of urbanites”, the CM said.
Citizens often correlate the payment of taxes with delivery of services.
“Urban Odisha today is transforming itselif into Liveable, Sustainable and Inclusive Cities. I understand Organisation of Municipal Premier League for enhancing the revenue collection of the Urban Local Bodies is a first of its kind in the entire country. It’s a transformative idea that will certainly create a competitive spirit among Urban Loeal Bodies, and pave the way for a better urban life,” Naveen added.
On the occasion, Property Tax Module and other on Municipal Premier League were screened.
The CM also unveiled the MPL Winner’s Trophy.
Among others, Minister Pratap Jena, Development Commissioner Shri Suresh Mohapatra, H &UD Principal Secretary G. Mathivathan, 5T Secretary V.K. Pandian attended.
Employees of nine ULBs including those of BMC were present at the function.
