CM Orders Crime Branch Probe Into Fake Drugs Case

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered the state Crime Branch to probe the matter related to fake drugs in the state. Earlier on Saturday, the government had ordered the Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited and the Odisha Police to jointly inquiry into the seizure of fake drugs in various districts of the state.

According to sources, spurious and fake Favipiravir tablets were seized in various places including Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Rourkela. The fake drugs are said to have been purchased by a company based out of Cuttack from Himachal Pradesh.
