CMC Intensifies Door to Door Surveillance During Ongoing Lockdown

CMC Conducted 1700 Antigen Test so Far

Bhubaneswar: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has intensified the door-to-door surveillance in both slum and non-slum areas during ongoing lockdown period to curb the spread of COVID-19 cases in the city, said, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das today.

Adressing media, Das said, ward level committees such as puja committees, clubs etc, are helping the civic body in the door-to-door survey by providing vital information about the persons having Covid-19 symptoms.

The Municipal Commissioner further requested people to provide true information about influenza like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) symptoms during survilance.

Today 16 new cases of COVID-19 positives have been reported from Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) area, she said.

At present, there are 350 positive cased reported in the CMC areas, out of it, 200 have already been recovered and 143 active covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment, while 7 have succumbed to the virus, she added.

Throwing light on the reducing number of active cases in the city, she said, “The number of active cases have reduced as compared to last week when it was 170 and now it is only 143. Those who have died, most of them had comorbidity.”

Stressing on the antigen test to find out the infected people, she said, till now 1,700 antigen tests have already been done in Government medical institutions.

Meanwhile, temporary OPD structures are being built by the Works Department to reduce crowd at OPD, she said.
