Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police will use drones to continuously monitor Bhubaneswar in order to stop criminal activities.
Drones will be deployed to monitor the capital city from the skies by the Commissionerate Police.
The use of drones will enhance the police’s ability to monitor street crimes.
The Special Protection Group (SPG) has given the Bhubaneswar Urban Police Department (UPD) with high-performing drones, which can fly up to 5 km in the sky. The drones can detect movement up to five kilometers, as per reports.
These drones will monitor large rallies, law and order situations, VIP movements, festivals and major events. They will have night vision cameras that can take high-resolution pictures. One drone will be deployed initially and the number will be increased gradually, reports added.
