COVID-19: BMC Declares Parts of Siripur Area in Capital City as Containment Zone after 8 Positive Cases
Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared parts of Siripur area in the capital city as containment zone after detection of eight positive cases of COVID-19.
The first positive case in Laxmi Bazar Basti, Siripur of Bhubaneswar was found on June 17 with travel history from a hotspot district and after contact tracing and surveillance, eight more positive cases were detected.
In order to contain further spread of COVID-19, it is necessary to make the affected area as a containment zone to restrict public from entering into and going out of the containment zone”, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said.
Containment Zones:
i. From Trinath Temple Chawk to Airport Boundary
ii. From Airport Boundary to Trinath Mandira Chawk via the houses of Gangadhar Das and Manoranjan Pradhan.
No public shall be allowed to move into the containment zone and the inhabitants within the containment zone shall not move out. All the inhabitants within the containment zone shall strictly remain in home. All the shopping establishments of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately, the BMC said.
