COVID-19 Lockdown: Special Train to Carry 1,200 Stranded Migrants from Ernakulam to Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: A special train, carrying 1,200 migrant labourers, who are stranded in Kerala in the wake of COVID-19 lockdown, will leave from Ernakulam for Odisha capital city Bhubaneswar on Friday evening.
The train will leave Aluva railway station in Ernakulam district at 6pm, according to reports.
The announcement of this train service comes hours after the Railways launched a special train from Telangana to Jharkhand with migrants, its first passenger service since late March.
The train will be thoroughly disinfected and all passengers, who will be brought to the station by the state, will be required to maintain social distancing, sources said.
