New Delhi: The Coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases in India crossed the 50,000 mark on Wednesday due to alarming rise in number of cases in the past three days.
The country reported nearly 10,000 cases over a period of three days.
The total number of cases reached 50,545 with Maharashtra recording highest cases at 16,758 following by Gujarat and Delhi.
While Gujarat reported over 6200 cases, the national capital has more than 5,000 cases. The number of cases in Tamil Nadu crossed 4000.
Notably, the first COVID-19 positive case in India was detected in Kerala four months ago.
