COVID-19: Puri Srimandir to Remain Closed for Darshan till March 31

Puri: As part of the preventive measures to fight the Coronavirus, the Puri Srimandir will remain closed for devotees till March 31.

This has been informed by the SJTA (Shri Jagannath Temple Administration) chief administrator Krishan Kumar.

However, rituals of the Trinity will be performed as usual, he said.

Only servitors will be allowed inside to perform rituals, the SJTA chief added.

Meanwhile, the Puri district administration has taken a slew of measures to prevent spread of COVID-19.

The district administration has asked tourists to vacate hotel rooms within two days in view of the preventive measures put in place by the Odisha government over novel coronavirus.

The district police has also intensified checking on entry points to prevent outsiders from entering Puri district.

Notably, popular tourist sites of the State, including the Konark Sun Temple, had already been closed for visitors as a precautionary measure.
