COVID-19 Vaccination Not Mandatory for All Health Workers in Odisha, Says Govt

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 vaccination is not mandatory for all health workers in Odisha.

Director Medical Education and Training (DMET) CBK Mohanty stated that there is no mandatory provision that all health workers will be vaccinated. If any health worker is willing he/she will be vaccinated, he added.

According to the Union Health Secretary, the COVID vaccine will arrive Odisha in 10 days. The vaccination programme will commence in one or two days soon after the vaccine reach the State, Mohanty said.

India has approved two vaccines that will be administered in two doses. The second dose of the vaccine will be administered 28 days after the first dose, he further said while adding that Odisha is prepared to execute the vaccination programme as per guidelines framed by the Centre.
