Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has arrested gangster Raja Acharjya in a case related to extortion of money from businessman in Unit 1 Market. This comes within hours of the Commissionerate police launched a special drive against extortionists and anti socials who are indulging in harassing people with Dada Bati. Operation Dada Bati Ku Na aims at neutralizing extortion particularly during the coming festive season. Police has also opened a dedicated phone line for receiving complaints of extortion from the twin cities.
Raja Acharjya, who was arrested in the Biranchi Das murder case, has a long history of criminal cases and more than 40 cases are pending against him.
