Dharmendra Pradhan Hails Odisha Govt’s Decision to Accord State Anthem Status to ‘Bande Utkala Janani’

Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has hailed the Odisha Government’s decision to accord state anthem status to ‘Bande Utkala Janani’.

Expressing happiness over the move, Pradhan said according state song status to ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ is a matter of pride.

The song had instilled patriotism in the minds of the Odias during the movement for a special Odisha province. The song gets its due credit, the Union Minister tweeted.

‘ବନ୍ଦେ ଉତ୍କଳ ଜନନୀ’କୁ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସଙ୍ଗୀତର ମାନ୍ୟତା ମିଳିବା ଖୁସି ଖବର । ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ଉତ୍କଳ ପ୍ରଦେଶ ଗଠନରେ ଓଡ଼ିଆଙ୍କ ମନରେ ଦେଶାତ୍ମକବୋଧର ମଞ୍ଜି ଭରିଥିଲା ବନ୍ଦେ ଉତ୍କଳ ଜନନୀ ସଙ୍ଗୀତ । ବନ୍ଦେ ଉତ୍କଳ ଜନନୀକୁ ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ମାନ୍ୟତା ମିଳିଲା ।

Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik accorded state anthem status to the patriotic song ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ written by poet Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra.

It is a momentous occasion for every Odia as Bande Utkala Janani has been chosen as Odisha Rajya Sangeeta, the Chief Minister said.

Every word of the inspiring song written by literary doyen Laxmikanta Mohapatra speaks about Odisha’s glory, rich heritage, splendour, evoking patriotism among crores of Odias, he added.
