Fighting COVID-19: Odisha Govt Makes Full Proof Action Plan for Management of Migrant Labourers, Other People Returning Home

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has made a full-proof action plan for the safe return of migrant Odia workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places in the country due to COVID-19 lockdown, said Chief Secretary, Asit Tripathy today.

Briefing media about the plan, Tripathy said that the pre-registration is mandatory in the dedicated covid-19 website of the government – www.covid19.odisha.gov.in and validation of migrant labourers is going on, he added.

Those workers want to come back by road have to get a valid pass from the district authority from the source place and have to give detail about their destination.

Meanwhile, the state government has set up as many as 11entry points to Odisha. Migrant labourers can register at the entry point as well.

14 days Institutional quarantine is mandatory for all migrant workers and other returnees. An identification stamp will be colored on their hand. Similarly a poster will be pasted on the home for the home quarantine.
Similarly, thermal screening of all workers at the boarding point is mandatory those who are coming by train. The workers can got down in a specified stations and from there they will sent to their respected districts under close supervision.

While Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water has been designated as the nodal department for the management of migrant Labourers and their quarantine at the village level, the same responsibility has been given to Urban and housing Development department for urban areas including NAC and Municipality areas in the State, Tripathy said.
