Pune: At least five persons were killed in the massive fire that broke out at a plant of Serum Institute of India here today, media reports said.
The mishap took place at the Manjri plant of Serum Institute of India.
Meanwhile, SII CEO Adar Poonawala said that there would be no loss of COVISHIELD production.
“I would like to reassure all governments and the public that there would be no loss of COVISHIELD production due to multiple production buildings that I had kept in reserve to deal with such contingencies at @SerumInstIndia”, he tweeted.
The reason behind the massive fire at the Serum Institute plant is yet to be revealed.
