Bhubaneswar: Former Digapahandi NAC Chairman V Rabi Narayan Raju today joined the Biju Janata Dal. Raju, a senior leader of the Ganjam Congress, joined the Biju Janata Dal today in the presence of Party President Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas. Along with Raju, more than 500 congress workers also joined the BJD.
He was the Chairman of the Digapahandi NAC for two times and also contested the 2009 elections in which he stood second. With his joining the BJD, the Party will get stronger in the grassroots level.
He joined the party under the guidance of Berhampur Member of Parliament Chandrasekhar Sahu. According to Raju, “The leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the good governance of BJD have inspired me to join the party.
There is nothing left in the Congress Party for Development. Odisha can only develop under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.”
