Bhubaneswar: A Block Education Officer (BEO) in Gajapati district was arrested by the vigilance officials for allegedly taking bribe.
Braja Kumar Nayak, BEO of Nuagada Block in Gajapati was apprehended for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 30000 from a teacher to release his arrear salary.
Nayak has demanded the bribe through Dillip Kumar Swain, accountant cum data entry operator.
The bribe money was recovered from the possession of both the accused. In this connection, a case has been registered and further investigation is continuing, according to vigilance.
