Gajapati: Maha Shivaratri to Be Celebrated at Mahendragiri without Devotees

Paralakhemundi: The Maha Shivaratri festival will be celebrated at the famous Mahendragiri hill without devotees this year, the Gajapati district administration announced today.

In view of Covid-19 safety guidelines/protocols, it has been decided that Gajapati district will celebrate Maha Shivaratri at Mahendragiri without devotees, said Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha.

The Collector also urged the devotees not to visit Mahendragiri.

“The gathering and congregation at Mahendragiri under Rayagada Block of Gajapati District on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri from March 10 to 11 March shall remain prohibited in the interest of general public”, the district admin said.
