Ganjam: Health Screening of Discharged COVID-19 Patients from Tomorrow

Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration will start health screening of the COVID-19 recovered persons from tomorrow in order to know the status of re-infection among the cured persons and motivate them for plasma donation for the treatment of serious patients.

Informing this, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said the medical teams will conduct health screening of discharged patients from tomorrow onwards to check if they have any health issues after discharge.

The medical teams will check if the cured persons face any breathlessness, body pain, or any health problems and will treat the patient as per requirement, he said.

The exercise by our teams to monitor health of recovered patients is a screening exercise with the goal of also motivating them to donate plasma, informed district PD DRDA Siddharth Shankar Swain.

As Ganjam has large numbers of cured persons, the health screening will help to identify plasma donors.

The district admin has also appealed to the cured patients to come forward for plasma donation.

Currently, there are 13084 COVID-19 recovered persons in the district.

As per the plan, the screening campaign period will continue till August 26. The medical teams will visit each household of COVID-19 discharged cases of their assigned area and conduct health screening.
