Berhampur: The Vigilance officials on Wednesday raided several places in connection with allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by a high school Hindi teacher in Rangeilunda block in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
A team of Berhampur division of the Vigilance Department conducted simultaneous raids at 10 different places belonging to Bhubanananda Sahu, Hindi Teacher of Jashoda High School, Jhadankuli in Rangeilunda Block.
The anti-corruption officials searched Sahu’s properties both in the district and outside.
The officials raided the teacher’s residential house at Baikunthanagar 2nd line, Berhampur, another house at Baikunthanagar let out on rent and a four storied building at Brahmanagar 2nd lane at Berhampur.
Besides, raids were also conducted at the teacher’s shop room at Nimakhandi, Berhampur; rented house at Kalpana Square, Bhubaneswar; 3BHK apartment at Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar; 1BHK Flat at Puri town, Puri; office at Jashoda High School; house at native place Chikiti, Ganjam and a private school near Chikiti, run by the Hindi teacher and his family members.
Searches are still under way, informed Santanu Kumar Padhi, Vigilance Additional Superintendent of Police at Berhampur Division.
