Berhampur: Vigilance officers on Thursday caught an Assistant Engineer of Lift Irrigation in Aska Sub Division in Ganjam district while he was taking bribe from a contractor for clearing his bill in a project.
Iswar Das, AE (Electrical), Lift Irrigation Sub- Div., Aska, Ganjam has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from a contractor for clearing his bill reg. construction of a Lift Irrigation Project.
The vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raids on properties of Das at three places in Ganjam district.
Investigation is in progress against the AE, the Odisha Vigilance informed.
