Ganjam: Two killed in Elephant Attack Near Bhanjanagar

Bhanjanagar: In a tragic incident, at least two persons including a minor boy have been killed in elephant attack at Nuapalli village near Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district today.

The deceased have been identified as Ganesh Gouda (12) and Sukuria Naik (60).

As per reports, while Sukuria Naik has died on the spot, Ganesh has succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to MKCG medical college, Berhampur.

A pal of gloom descended over the village following the tragic mishap.

According to reports, a tusker given birth to calf at a cashew field and the villagers gathered there to watch it. However, getting angry over the peoples’ gathering there, the herd of elephant attacked them.

According to sources, as many as 22 elephants still in the area surrounding the deadbody of Sukuria Naik.
