New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a massive flood in the Dhauliganga river was reported near a village in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district in which 100-150 people are reportedly missing.
The district authorities however, launch a search and rescue operation and sounded an alert in all the districts downstream up to Haridwar.
Hundreds of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel have been rushed to the site to carry out rescue operations near the Raini village.
Meanwhile, the Chamoli district magistrate Swati S Bhadauria has instructed officials to evacuate people living in villages on the bank of Dhauliganga river.
