Government Holds All Party Meeting Ahead of Budget Session

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today chaired the All Party Meeting convened on the eve of the Budget session of the Parliament. The meeting was attended by all major political parties including the TMC and National Conference.

As the NDA government wants to pass a number of crucial Bills, the support of all parties is needed, especially in the Rajya Sabha where the it is in Minority. While the Congress has said that it will not oppose the Bills that are in the interest of the people. The opposition as a whole has demanded that issues related to farm distress, unemployment and drought should be debated in the Parliament Session.

According the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahalad Joshi, the government has called a meeting of the heads of the political parties having presence in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to discuss a number of issues concerning the nation on June 19th . The meeting could discuss on One Nation – One Election, celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence in 2022, and 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
