IT Sector at the top my Government's agenda, says CM

Bhubaneswar: People are the soul of democracy. The hallmark of good governance is citizen satisfaction. The 5-T Mantra – Transparency, Technology, Teamwork and Time leading to Transformation remains the bedrock of good and responsive governance, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today.

Inaugurating the 27 edition of Indian Express “Technology Sabha”, which is being organized for the first time in Odisha in association with the State Government, Naveen said, “Technologies are changing very fast from desktop to laptop to tablets to mobiles, and from Internet of Things to Internet of Everything. Keeping this in view, the IT Sector is at the top my Government’s agenda”.

“Odisha is a leading State in the field of e-Governance. A number of e- Govemance initiatives have been taken up in the areas such as land records, urban services, disaster management, education, policing, grievance redressal and other fields Odisha is the only State, which has redesigned governance processes by using IT and innovation, where a citizen need not visit any government office for availing services, unless mandated by law”, Naveen said.

He said, “People are the soul of democracy. The hallmark of good governance is citizen satisfaction. Our Five-T Mantra – Transparency, Technology, Teamwork and Time leading to Transformation remains the bedrock of good and responsive governance. In every sphere, we are aiming at using the best of technology”.

Besides setting a benchmark in disaster preparedness, Odisha has emerged as the top performer in the Start-Up Ranking 2018. Odisha has also won the “Best State Promoting Sports” at the FICCI India Sports Award-2019 and all set to host the 2023 World Hockey Championship after hosting the World Hockey Championship 2019, Naveen said.

Odisha is the only destination in the Eastern India where all five IT majors namely Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra & Mindtree have set up their Development Centres. The IT exports from the State have touched Rs Four thousand Crore in this year thereby putting the State in a commendable position in IT map of the country, the CM stated.

Naveen asserted that his government is committed to take all possible steps to build right ecosystem to make Odisha a leader in technology.
