India Likely to Administer First COVID Vaccine Shots by Jan 13

New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry today announced that the country would be ready to administer COVID-19 vaccine by January 13.

The vaccine will be rolled out within ten days of receiving the emergency use authorization, informed Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan at a press briefing.

The announcement comes just days after the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, Covishield, domestically manufactured by the Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech’s indigenous Covaxin got approval of the DCGI for restricted emergency use.
