Bhubaneswar: The Indian Men’s and Women’s Hockey team which created history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be given a rousing welcome to Odisha today. The teams will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in the Capital at about 11 am today.
While the Men’s team won the Bronze medal at the Olympics after 41 years, the Women’s team entered the semifinals for the first time.
A grand welcome has been planned for the players at the Bhubaneswar Airport after which they will be taken in a huge procession around the city. A media interaction is also scheduled at the Hotel Sandy’s Tower. They will be at the Kalinga Stadium for a photo session and felicitation ceremony at 5 pm where senior officials and distinguished people will be present. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will meet and felicitate the players at the Convention Hall at 6 30 pm.
