India’s COVID-19 Caseload Inches Closer to 95 Lakh with 36,604 Fresh Cases

New Delhi: With single day spike of 36,604 new COVID-19 cases, India’s coronavirus caseload jumped to 94,99,413 on Wednesday, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The country’s corona related death toll mounted to 1,38,122 after 501 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
More than 89.32 lakh patients have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic including over 43,000 recoveries on Tuesday. The number of active cases now stands at 4,28,644.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst COVID-19-affected state in the country. It has registered 4,930 new cases, taking the tally to 18,28,826.

Maharashtra has also registered 95 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 47,246.
