Jajpur: Jajpur MP Sarmistha Sethi has contributed Rs 1.05 crore from her MPLAD fund to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
The BJD MP wrote a letter to Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das requesting him to allow the district administration to utilize the amount in seven assembly segments of her parliamentary constituency to fight the deadly virus.
“I do hereby place Rs 1.05 crore (Rupees one crore and five lakhs) to your administrative account from my MPLAD Fund, 2020-21 and authorize you to utilize the same for COVID-19 @ Rs 15 lakhs (Rupees fifteen lakhs only) each in seven assembly segments of my Parliamentary Constituency”, the Lok Sabha MP mentioned in her letter.
Stating the COVID-19 a major global challenge, the Jajpur MP had earlier appealed to the people to adhere to the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s advisory and guidelines on Coronavirus to keep the deadly virus at bay.
