Janata Curfew Gets Massive Response in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Janata Curfew called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and supported by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to fight Coronavirus (COVID-19) has received huge response from people of Odisha.

Since morning, people in all districts of the State were seen confined to their houses as part of the social distancing exercise.

Shops and business establishments remained closed in all parts of the State. Roads and markets wore a deserted look as maximum number of trains and buses remained cancelled.

While most people stayed indoors, essential services were not affected by the Curfew.

“Let us all be a part of this curfew, which will add tremendous strength to the fight against the COVID-19 menace,” PM Modi tweeted before the curfew commenced.

“The steps we take now will help in the times to come,” the PM said.

Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged the people to join as one nation and support the appeal of the Prime Minister.

The Odisha Government yesterday announced lockdown in five districts and eight cities till 29th March.
