Kalahandi: Section 144 Imposed during Upcoming Season of Durga Puja and Chhatar Yatra in Bhawanipatna
Bhawanipatna: Prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 have been imposed in Bhawanipatna Municipality area in Odisha’s Kalahandi district to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus during the upcoming season of Durga Puja and Chhatar Yatra and to ensure safety of life of general public.
In last two months the number of positive Covid-19 cases is drastically increasing and there is grave danger to human life, health and safety It has become necessary to contain the spread of infection by avoiding any kind of public gathering or congregation, the Kalahandi administration said.

it is considered expedient to issue prohibitory orders for prohibiting large Public gatherings in view of the occasion of Chatar Yatra and related pre and post rituals, the admin stated.
As per the order, entry to Bhawanipatna Municipality area will be allowed only for medicall emergency purpose and any other purpose specifically allowed for from 23.10.2020 to 25.10.2020.
Movement and gathering of people are restricted to four persons at any point of time in the township from 12.00 am (midnight) of 23.10.2020 to 12.00 am (midnight) of 25.10.2020 This order shall remain in force from 12.00 am (midnight) of 22.10.2020 to 12.00 am (midnight) of 25.10.2020, it added.
All the Executive Magistrates, Officers, officials of essential service departments carrying valid ID proofs/ movement pass shall be exempted from the purview of this order.
Any person contravening this order will be prosecuted under the Section of 188 of IPC, the order said.
