Abu Dhabi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered the lowest first-innings score in this edition of the Indian Premier League when it mustered 84 for 8 after batting first against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
From an emphatic Super Over win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Eoin Morgan’s KKR looked to extend their winning run when they locked horns with rejuvenated Bangalore side led by Virat Kohli in match No.39 of the ongoing IPL 2020.
KKR skipper Eoin Morgan has won the toss and decided to bat first. Eoin Morgan top-scored with 30 off 34 balls, while only Lockie Ferguson, Kuldeep Yadav and Tom Banton managed to reach double-digit scores. Mohammed Siraj picked up 3 for 8 as Royal Challengers Bangalore restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to 84 for 8.
This is KKR’s second-lowest total in the history of the IPL and the lowest score in IPL history for a team without having been bowled out. Previously, Chennai Super Kings had registered the lowest first-innings score in this edition when it mustered 125 for five after batting first against Rajasthan Royals at the same venue on Monday.
