Major Setback To Congress In MP As As Scindia and 19 MLA’s Resign

New Delhi: In a major setback to the Congress Party today, Jyotiraditya Scindia and 19 other MLA’s of Madhya Pradesh resigned. The MLA’s who resigned from the assembly today include six ministers of the Kamal Nath Government.

This development comes after Scindia met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah Tuesday bringing speculations that he may join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

While Jyotiraditya Scindia sent his resignation letter to Party President Sonia Gandhi, the Congress has issued a statement saying Scindia has been expelled from the Party for antiparty activities.

In his resignation letter Scindia wrote “this was a path that has been drawing itself out over the last year.”

According to latest reports about 19 MLA’s of Madhya Pradesh, who are now stay put in a Bengaluru, have sent in their resignations from the assembly. With this, the Kamal Nath Government is sure fall and all eyes are on the Governor.
Sources say Scindia may formally join the Bharatiya Janata Party today itself at 6 pm.
