Man In Medieval Clothing Killed 2, Injured 5 In Quebec

Quebec (Canada): At least two people have been stabbed to death and five injured in the Canadian city of Quebec by a man armed with a sword and dressed in medieval clothing, police say.

Security has been beefed up in the area and emergency services were rushed to the scene of the incident. The five victims have been transported to a hospital.

The suspect, “a man in his mid-20s,” was armed with a sword and dressed in “medieval clothing,” Quebec City police spokesman Etienne Doyon said during a press briefing.

As soon as the police were informed about the incident, it cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt to nab the accused. After a brief operation, the suspect was arrested.

The local police force tweeted, “Shortly before 1 am, the SPVQ (Quebec city police force) arrested a suspect” and requested the residents of the city to “stay inside with the doors locked” because an “investigation is still ongoing.”
