Malkangiri: In a major breakthrough, the Odisha police has unearthed a Maoist dump from Kalimela area in Malkangiri district and seized huge cache of ammunition.
A joint operation led by Malkangiri DVF and 76th Battalion, BSF has unearthed the ammunition dump from Kalimela area and recovered a huge cache including 12 bore empty cartridge cases with caps (48 Nos), 12 bore live ammunition (2 Nos), Detonators (93 Nos), Gas cylinders (2 Nos), lathe machine (1 No) and Carbide gas welding cylinder (1).
The joint team also recovered machinery for illegal manufacturing and repairs of weapons suspected to be used for subversive activities by the Naxals, informed Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Risikesh D Khilari through his Twitter handle.
