Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police Abhay has ordered a high level enquiry into the incident of death of Meenakshi Mishra following her attempt of self immolation in the Office of the SP Berhampur.
The enquiry will be carried out by Rekha Lohani, IGP Modernization.
Meenakshi Mishra, a local BJD leader had tried to immolate herself in the Office of the Superintendent of Police in Berhampur protesting against the arrest of her son in a group clash case. With 60 percent burns, she was first admitted to MKCG Medical Hospital and later shifted to the SCB Medical College in Cuttack. Again, she was shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar where she succumbed to the injuries.
