MIO 2022: Odisha’s Apparel & Technical Textiles Policy 2022 Launched

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy 2022 has been launched at the Make in Odisha (MIO) Conclave 2022, the flagship investor summit of the Government of Odisha.

The new policy has been launched by P K Jena, Additional Chief Secretary, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department, S K Sahu, Special Secretary, Government of Odisha and Sanjay Panda, Former Secretary Textiles, GoI at the summit.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Padhee said that each district of Odisha is a treasure trope of art – the handlooms and handicrafts are a true reflection of the State’s culture and employ millions of people in the State.

The Odisha Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy-2022 will boost employment and enhance economic growth in the state. It includes incentives like capital investment subsidy, employment cost subsidy and market development initiative.

It also seeks to boost the emergence of Odisha as the textile hub of Eastern India.
