Bhubaneswar: The most ambitious program for bringing in super speciality health services to the remotest areas, the Mukhyamantri Vayu Swasthya Seva has started in Kalahandi district from today. As part of the program, experts from various Medical Colleges of the state have been deputed to Kalahandi District Headquarter Hospital who will provide super speciality health services to the patients who cannot go out for treatment. The visiting doctors will provide speciality health services in Urology, Cardiology, Neurology and Nephrology to patients at the Kalahandi District Hospital. All arrangements have been made for the mega event at the Hospital.
Under the Mukhyamantri Vayu Swasthya Seva, Expert Doctors are being air lifted to remote districts where they will provide the most required super speciality health services to the common man. A team of Doctors from the SCM Medical College has already reached the District Hospital and screening the patients for providing the best of the health services.
Mukhyamantri Vayu Swasthya Seva program has been launched for the tribal-dominated four districts of Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada initially and will be expanded to other districts if required.
Expert Doctors from the premiere Medical Colleges of the state such as neurologists, nephrologists and cardiologists will be flown to the District Headquarters Hospitals to treat patients. Helicopters or small chartered planes will be used to carry the doctors to the District Hospitals. State of the art equipment is also being provided to the Hospitals as part of this effort.
