Naveen Announces Rs 25 Crore for Infra Development of Rajendra College

Balangir: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced a grant of Rs 25 crore to address the infrastructural needs of Rajendra College in Balangir district.

The fund will be used for infrastructural needs such as development of academic and administrative blocks of the University. Besides, a District Science Centre and a Planetarium will be established within the premises of this institute to inspire students in the field of science and technology.

Speaking on the occasion of Platinum Jubilee celebration of Rajendra College, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is committed to the development of this institution.
Former Chief Minister and Patna Maharaj Sri Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo had immense contribution in setting up of this great institution.

Naveen paid his sincere tributes to Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo on this happy occasion.

This college has been spreading the light of the knowledge in this part of Odisha for many many years and now it is like a heritage institution in Higher Education. It has produced many brilliant students who have made the nation and the state proud, the CM said.

“Considering the contribution of this institution, the State Government has upgraded it to the status of University. I hope it will be successful in catering to the educational aspirations of young people of this region”, Naveen added.

He said, “Education is a powerful instrument for social change. The destiny of a nation can only be changed by knowledge and education. Therefore, development of knowledge and skill among the youth should be the core philosophy for improvement of our human resources potential”.

“The youth of Odisha have immense potential in every possible field. You have the talent, you have the knowledge, and with your dedication, you can excel wherever you want. As Odisha is moving ahead with a high growth rate, higher than the national average, there are huge opportunities in Odisha itself in various fields like Industries, Infrastructure, Health, Education, IT and many other sectors. I call upon all of you to join this movement of massive development process and scale new heights for our Odisha”, the CM further stated.
