Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday congratulated the three bravehearts from Odisha, who will be receiving the ICCW National Bravery Awards 2019.
The bravehearts are Purnima Giri and Sabita Giri of Nipania village in Kendrapara district, and Shrimati Badra of Angul district.
They are among 22 children, who will receive the award at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the eve of Republic Day this year.
“Congratulations to Purnima Giri and Sabita Giri of Kendrapara district and Shrimati Badra of Angul on receiving ICCW National Bravery Awards 2019. These brave hearts saved the lives of others risking their own lives. Their courage is indeed an inspiration for all”, the Odisha CM tweeted.

The ICCW Dhruva Award will be conferred to Purnima Giri (16) and Sabita Giri (15) for saving 12 persons from drowning in a river when a boat sank into water full with crocodiles.
Srimati Badra (10) has been selected for the ICCW Prahalada Award for helping her friend who lost her right leg in a train accident.
