Balangir: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the state of the art Motilal Oswal-Kiss Residential Tribal School at Balangir.
The school has been set up by Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences Bhubaneswar with financial support from the Motilal Oswal Group. Built on 20 acre land, the fully residential school will provide free quality education to more than 1500 tribal students in the first phase.
After Baripada, this is the second campus of Kiss outside Bhubaneswar. A fifty bed hospital has also been established in the campus that will provide healthcare facilities to local people.
While inaugurating the school, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, the Balangir Campus of the Kiss will a vital role in providing education to the poor tribal people of the backward district. Education brings transformation in the society.
The state government has established 6500 residential schools for the educational development of the SC and ST students of the state. Special attention is being given on providing quality education in these schools. Speaking on the occasion, founder of KISS and Member of Parliament from Kandhamal, Achyuta Samanta said that the school will strive to provide best education to the tribal people of the state.
Dignitaries present on the occasion include Minister Tukuni Sahu, senior Congress leader and MLA Narasingha Mishra, Collector Arindam Dakua, Motilal Oswal, MD Motilal Oswal Financial Services Group, Smt. Vimala Oswal, Group Chairman Ramdeo Agarwal, Motilal Oswal Foundation chairperson Sunita Agarwal and Balangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singhdeo.
