Naveen Pays Tributes to Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Birth Anniversary

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid his humble tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary today.

“Humble tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his Birth Anniversary. Atalji was an outstanding Parliamentarian, distinguished statesman, exceptional poet, excellent orator and one of the tallest leaders of independent India”, Naveen tweeted.

Born in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh in 1924, Vajpayee was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1957 from Balrampur constituency as a member of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, a forerunner of the BJP. He served three terms as the Prime Minister of India, first for a term of 13 days in 1996, then for a period of 13 months from 1998 to 1999, followed by a full term from 1999 to 2004.
