Naveen Remembers Erstwhile Khallikote King, on His 121st Birth Anniversary, Describes Him as ‘Proud Odia’
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday described the king of erstwhile princely State of Khallikote, Raja Bahadur Ramchandra Mardaraj Deo as a proud Odia and a dedicated social worker on his 121 birth anniversary.
Speaking as the chief guest at a function held at Jayadev Bhawan here to commemorate the 121st birth anniversary of the erstwhile king, Patnaik said Deo had illustrious personality who did his responsibilities could win both as a monarch and democrat successfully with his pro-people initiatives and won respect and love of the people.
Remembering his contribution to the development of Ganjam, the CM said, ” He had made commendable contribution to the development of both Ganjam and Odisha. His contribution was equally important for the formation of Utkal as a separate province. He will live forever in the heart of the people as a proud Odia and a dedicated social worker.”
“His working style, ideals, commitment and dedication for Odisha will remain as inspiration for all of us,” he added paying his tributes to Deo.
The speaker of Odisha Assembly, Surya Narayan Patro described Deo as “Bikas Purusha”.
