Govt to Increase Bed Capacity of COVID Care Centres
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the State with Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and other senior officials through video conferencing.
At the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed about corona containment measures and revival of the State economy.
The CM has called for better management of the temporary medical camps (TMCs) set up across State in view of return of large number of Pravasi Odias.
Stating that the battle against the coronavirus is going to be long, Naveen appealed for active participation of society and more empowerment of panchayti raj institutions.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need to increase the bed capacity in COVID care centres in districts such as Ganjam, Balasore, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Balangir.
He also urged the officials to provide necessary trainings to the inmates of quarantine centres on COVID-19, so that they can voluntarily serve the society after their quarantine period is over. A short certificate course should be prepared in this regard, the CM said.
In order revive the livelihood and economy of the State, the Chief Minister directed the officials to expand the activities of MGNREGS and Mission Shakti.
