NIRF rankings 2020: Four Educational Institutes of Odisha Placed in India’s top 100 list

Bhubaneswar: As many as four institutes including National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, and Indian Institute of Technology based in Bhubaneswar have made it to the top 100 institute in the country in over all category , according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings 2020 publish today.

While National Institute of Technology, Rourkela secured 32 rank scoring 51.87. point followed by Siksha `O` Anusandhan which scored 50.97 to  ranking 38 in the overall category. Similarly other two institutes of Odisha namely Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar have secured 44 and 56 rank respectively.

 Top Universities 

In the ‘University’ category, Odisha’s three universities have places in the list of  top 100 universities in the country.  while Siksha `O` Anusandhan become one of the top 20 universities in the country securing 20 rank, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology university ranked 24 in the list in top University category. Similarly Odisha Government run Utkal University has secured 96 rank.

IISc Bengaluru, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have been ranked the top three. The best colleges in the country are Miranda House, Lady Shri Ram College and Hindu College — all three form a part of Delhi University.

The ranking framework releases several lists including one overall list of top Indian higher education institutes (HEIs) and several subcategories based on the stream and nature of institute. The NIRF rankings will be released for a total of 10 categories – Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, Dental and Law.
