No Night Curfew, Shutdown in BMC areas for Time being as BMC Focuses on Micro Containment Zones To Curb COVID Spread

Bhubaneswar: Amid the speculation on the imposition of night curfew and lockdown in Bhubaneswar, the city Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary today cleared the air saying nothing of that sort is on the cards for the time being.

Speaking to media, the BMC Commissioner said, “Though cases are increasing , we are fully alert. As of now we are not planning for any night curfew, shutdown and lockdown. Rather, we are more focusing on strict enforcement, micro containment and generating awareness to curb transmission of the virus.”
“We have joined hands with the Commissionerate Police to tighten the enforcement.”he added.

He further reiterated that entry of general public into various Government offices has been restricted.
