Odisha: Air Intelligence Unit Seize Gold Worth Rs 5 Lakh At Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar: Officers of Air Intelligence Unit of Customs at BPI Airport, Bhubaneswar foiled yet another attempt of smuggling of gold through Bhubaneswar airport.

The Customs officials seized gold weighing 150.9 grams from a passenger who arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in an Air Asia flight from Bangkok last night.
The market value of the recovered gold was Rs 5.33 lakh.

The passenger hailing from Uttar Pradesh was detained and the search of this person led to recovery of a crude gold chain of foreign origin tactfully concealed beneath his T-shirt collar, a statement said.

The Customs officials are further investigating the incident.
