Odisha CM Gives Placement Order to Newly Recruited Lecturers

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave placement order to the newly recruited 299 Lecturers of Higher Education Department at a function at Jayadev Bhawan here on Friday.

Addressing the lecturers, the Chief Minister said, At the outset, I congratulate all the newly recruited   Lecturers and wish them all the best in their career. The profession of teaching carries the highest respect in society. In a way, teachers lay the paths to the future of our society. They encourage imagination, critical thinking, and creativity”.

“The socio-economic value of education can be realized by dedicated and committed teachers. While they can make their students employable, they also can provide proper perspectives of life to understand society, grow with it and enrich it. So, there is a need to discover and realize the best of human values within us, and teachers in society are best positioned to realize it,” he stressed.

Naveen said, “My Government has been making sincere efforts to improve quality of education. We are establishing Centres of Excellence in universities with research funds for young educators. Our focus is on strengthening research capacity in the discipline that is relevant to the socio-economic development of Odisha.  Apart from various scholarships for students in need, Career Counseling Cells, Civil Service Coaching Centres are also being opened”.

“We are also making efforts to speed up the process to open an Odia University for preservation and promotion of Odia language. I am glad that the Higher Education Department has completed the selection process for 833 teachers in aided colleges, and 299 teachers are receiving their appointment letters today.
