Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has paid his humble tributes to eminent litterateur and freedom fighter Utkal Bharati Kuntala Kumari Sabat on her birth anniversary today.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister hailed Kuntala Kumari’s contribution in the field of Odia literature and freedom movement.

Kuntala Kumari Sabat fondly called as the nightingale or bulbul of Odisha was amongst many other women freedom fighters who stood against the British during the Indian freedom struggle.
An eminent poet, Kuntala Sabat used her thoughtful poems to ignite a sense of patriotism among people across the country. She raised her voice against the social evils in the society.
