Odisha CM Reviews COVID-19 Situation, Asks Officials To Enforce Covid Norms Strictly In View Of Ensuing Festivities, Winter Season
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today expressed satisfaction over the improvement in COVID-19 situation in Odisha, which has been recording a declining trend in the daily positive cases in the State.
During a weekly review meeting through video conference on corona the Chief Minister asked the officials to intensify Covid awareness in view of ensuing festivities and onset of winter season.
Patnaik asked the officials to remain alert and ensure strict implantation of COVID-19 norms to prevent further spread of the virus.
Citing instance of Kerala, Patnaik said, after the Onam festival in Kerala, there have been considerable rise in Covid cases there. Hence, it is necessary for the administration in Odisha not to take the situation lightly.
Stressing on the economic activity, the Chief Minister stated Odisha has been the attractive destination for investors. He advised the officials to ensure the projects take off and people get the benefit of the investment.
Priorities must be given to restart economic activities in various core sectors including industry, mining, construction, service and transport etc.
Any kind of hindrance in attracting investment in these areas will not be tolerated, CM said.
He also asked officials to emphasize on MGNREGA, Mission Shakti and Jeevika Mission programmes.
Among others, Additional Chief Secretary PK Mahapatra, DGP Abhay, 5T Secretary VK Pandian and other senior officials were present during the review meeting.
