Odisha: DGP Reviews Preparedness for ULB Polls in Koraput, Nabarangpur and Rayagada

Cuttack: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Sunil Kumar Bansal today reviewed the preparedness for the urban local body elections in Koraput, Nabarangpur and Rayagada districts, where polls are scheduled to be held on March 24.

Accompanied by ADG Law & Order R K Sharma, Director Intelligence Lalit Das, Special DGP SAP Manoj Chabra, IG Operations Amitabh Thakur, BSF IG SC Budakoti, DIG South-Western Range Rajesh Pandit and other senior officials, the DGP has visited the three districts to review the preparedness for smooth conduct of the ULB elections.

During his visit, Bansal reviewed the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) strategy and also operations in the border areas of Nabarangpur district. He also reviewed LWE matters in great details at Koraput.
He had also held detailed discussions with all stakeholders at Rayagada on LWE, ULB elections and other police matters. He gave advises on strategy for the future.

The DGP reviewed the anti-Maoist strategies of these districts and the prevailing law and order situation.
