Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government is planning to include 5 lakh more beneficiaries under its Food Security Scheme, informed Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain.
Currently, more than 3.62 crore beneficiaries are covered under the National Food Security scheme in Odisha.
Around 4 lakh beneficiaries have already been included in the State Food Security scheme.
With the inclusion of 5 lakh new beneficiaries, the total number of beneficiaries under the State Food Security Scheme will be nine lakh.
The process to include the new beneficiaries have already been completed, the Minister said while adding that the beneficiaries will be provided 3-months advance PDS ration after the approval of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
